Episode 5- What You Need to Know About Probiotics

Probiotics are one of the most purchased supplements in America, but what exactly are they? Noor and Michelle share all of the basics of probiotics that you should know, like the huge variety of these little beneficial bacteria that exist, how many CFUs (and what the heck that means) you should be looking for, and what do these different bacteria do for our health. Then the ladies tackle the topic of the microbiome.

Now, Noor and Michelle know you are probably aware by now the Standard American Diet (SAD) is lacking in several ways, but did you know it can also negatively impact the beneficial bacteria in our gut? But, before you freak out, the ladies have you covered! Michelle and Noor share the different ways you can ramp up your microbiome and why this is so vital for your overall health.

In the final part of the episode, Michelle jumps into the different foods that contain probiotics and how many servings of these we should aim for a day. And the gals wrap everything up with some words on prebiotics, the fuel for our beneficial gut bacteria.
